about

After returning from overseas for a second time, Killa King returned in full stride recording his 5th mixtape since 2009, "King of My City." On this mixtape, he collaborated with Selma based DJ, DJ Deadly of We Getting Money DJs. He highlights his Selma life and the struggles therein. "Man this one is for the crib, reminiscing on when I was living back home. These are the things that were going on around me on a daily.”

Killa King raps about what he's seen coming up in Selma but he isn't content with sounding like other rappers in style, delivery or even beat selection. On the album's title song "King of My City" he illuminates his return to the rap throne. His song "If It A'int One Thang" he really digs into his personal life, speaking of things that upset or puzzled him. "Its just what was on my mind thinking back, says Killa King. Its mostly things people think I forgot or didn't know...just want them to know I remember or I know what happened."

"I wanted to work with the hometown on this one so you'll only hear Selma talent on it. Even my album cover and artwork was done by a classmate." He has minimal features boasting names such as Kaotic and Pistol Petee, both Selma natives. Killa King also highlights Speedhustle.com, which was founded by his classmate Chico "BiggDogg" Cleveland.

"Certain songs tell you a little something about me and my life experiences. Certain songs might tell you how I relate to others. On the album I try to get as specific and vivid as I can so people from all walks of life can relate...well at least reason with my music. Selma already has a rich history so I won't tell the Selma story again. THIS IS MY STORY!!!!
